A sterile electrical conductor comprised of an electrode handpiece with cables and an active electrode, intended to be used to cut and coagulate tissue at a surgical site. The electrode is typically non-detachable and provides an electrical connection between the output terminals of an electrosurgical diathermy generator and the patient. The energy emitted from the device is regulated by the operator with an integrated microswitch. The unit may have additional features to enable functions e.g., lavage of the electrode for cooling, clearing of the surgical site by irrigation/aspiration, and/or surgical plume (i.e., smoke) evacuation. This is a single-use device.
